LinCT project was a project focused to provide spaces and opportunities for female teens to explore Science, Technology, and Art through social justice action with different communities. Teens learned computer programing to make video games and apps, as well as video editing skills to creates documentary films. Also, they created Computational Club that was offered twice a month to girls at the Rondo Library in St. Paul.
Working with high school students to understand how to make exhibitions through learning multiple mediums and how arts are curated in the museums. Students created an exhibition, installations, and interactions with public through this class.
Observational drawing is one of the most useful skills for young learners to be able to start seeing their world around them. Aki Shibata has teaching observational drawing skills to young people for more than 10 years in school residency setting as a part of visual art, behavioral art, and science practice.
Aki Shibata teachers creative art and culture classes for ages 2 to 4 at the Minnesota Japanese School. Young learners can explore their creativity with cultural content with their parents. During the class, students learned creative skills, trust to the people around them, and confidence in being with their classmates and play.
60-120 minutes interactive artists talk by Aki Shibata. Deepening the understanding to a way of behavioral art and embody the behavioral art in one sitting.
the primary school offers support to build more making and maker spaces. Making Space series were offered to 5 schools in the twin city, and teachers came together to vision their maker spaces for their school, students, and community. Once a month workshops, where people were deepening the understanding of engineering as well as making, were co-lead with school teachers and Aki Shibata and Thai Chang.
primary school offers many types meeting and retreats to support community growth. all of meetings are custom design to meet each communities need. it can be a circle conversation to cooking together.
